Your Hosts Ann and Glenn Dobson, have a story and background that will blow you away while sitting round the camp fire.
Meet Ann
Ann has trekked to Everest Base Camp, Climbed Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Kenya, plus several other High Altitude Mountains in the Himalayas.
She has also founded and grown several businesses including Store A Box and Jackets Mobile Catering; all while hanging onto her sanity bringing up two Daughters and three Grandchildren.
Meet Glenn
Glenn has competed in some of the World’s Toughest Sporting Challenges and is an International Triathlete, Hawaii Ironman, High Altitude Mountaineer, Ran across the Sahara Desert and Simpson Desert; Cage Fighter (retired); and Key Note Speaker.
He is a Charity Fundraiser and was also the Founder of The KONA Group, Australia’s Leading Corporate Sales Training Organisations with clients that included NRMA, NOVA, Brickworks, Commonwealth Bank, Honeywell and many others.
Then COVID hit and Ann and Glenn took off on the “grey nomad” trail in 2019.
Volunteering at Cobargo with Blaze Aid
In 2020 that took them to the beautiful south-coast of NSW… where they spent 5 months volunteering at Cobargo with Blaze Aid.
Following the devastating summer fires of 2019 Ann and Glenn really immersed themselves in what they felt was a simpler yet worthwhile lifestyle, working alongside farmers in the restoration of their burnt out properties.
Little did they know, the “country life” bug had bitten them.
Farm life hailed next as they spent another few months as working hands looking after 11,000 Merino sheep on a farming property in the Griffith region.
Big skies and billions of stars brought a sense of peace and wonderment.
As 2021 was coming to a close, it was obvious to both Ann and Glenn that a return to the hustle and bustle of Sydney was definitely off the table and the search for a new adventure was on.
Wild Goat Ridge Farm. A Dream Come True
Mudgee, centred in Wiradjuri land beckoned, and out of that Wild Goat Ridge farm was created.
Come and join Ann and Glenn in this serene location.

A WIMP2WARRIOR COMPETITOR’S JOURNEY

I embarked on possibly one of my biggest (or craziest) challenges ever. I signed up for the 21 week MMA Cage Fighting Program Wimp2Warrior.
W2W is a full contact Mixed Martial Arts competition which includes boxing, Jiu-jitsu, grappling, kickboxing and a range of other techniques and ends with a fight in the Octagon.
My nickname is ‘Fossil’ because I am the oldest person in the World to attempt the W2W program and easily older than most of the others in the competition by around 30 years.
So the obvious question is Why?
Why would somebody of my age put themselves through such a massive challenge and commitment?
Why would we all put ourselves through so much pain and torture voluntarily?
